Lita Rossana Ford (also commonly referred to as Lita Ford) is a British born American singer on guitar who took the lead in The Runaways a female hard rock group from the 1970s. They were noticed by their raunchy lyrics and punk-inspired design. The group wasn't success within the United States, it gained immense popularity in the world. Ford was able to enjoy a long and successful career as a solo performer after the band split from 1979. Her debut album as a solo artist was 'Dancin' On the Edge and was followed by the Album Out for Blood. Ford went missing from the music scene for some time after the albums did not gain much popularity. Her biggest hit, 'Lita' came out in 1989. The song "Kiss My Deadly" and ballad "Close My Eyes Forever" were huge hits. However, her success was only short lived and for several more years, she disappeared. After releasing 'Black, in 1995, and then 'Wicked Wonderland, 15 years later it was back in the spotlight. 2016 saw the release of her latest album of studio work "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the Certified Guitar Legend Award.
