A rundown surfboard that she was able to find in a rubbish container near her home, helped her win a competition at the age of 6. As she reached the age of five, she learned to surf. At the age of 5, Anastasia first started to surf, before she moved to Hawaii. When she was just six, she was crowned the winner of a surfing contest by using a discarded board she found in a trash container outside her home. Ashley started competing in the NSSA Nationals at 16 years old. She took home the Triple Crown award for the Rookie of the Year award in 2003. Ashley also won other awards such as that of the National Scholastic Surfing Association title as well as the Professional Surfing Tour of America. Ashley was the winner of 2010 Pipeline Women's Pro, Hawaii. Ashley is ranked 59th place in the Women's Qualification Series 2014. Anastasia Ashley posed for Sport's Illustrated magazine and Maxim Magazine in 2014. She launched her Gypsy Jet Set Jewelry line along with OK1984 during 2014.
