Zoe-perry
Perry is the daughter of actors Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. The character Jackie Harris was played by her mom in both of the two episodes she appeared on Roseanne. Her parents, however, did not let her perform until she was an adult, for fear of the negative effects that stress could affect their child. Perry states that she did not want to be an actor in high school, but she decided to begin playing as a way to make friends during her time at Northwestern University when she switched from Boston University. Perry, after graduating from Boston University, relocated into New York in search of acting roles on television. Perry was able to land small roles on TV shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. But, her home-sickness drove her to California to find theater work. Perry performed with her mom as part of The Other Place at Broadway the previous year. Kevin McKidd, her father Kevin McKidd performed in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer prize-winning film Anna Christie alongside her in 2015. Perry appeared nine times in the ABC thriller The Family, in 2016. In 2017, Perry starred in an appearance on ABC's political thriller Scandal along with her father. The actress also portrayed the young Mary Cooper in Young Sheldon which was which is a CBS spin-off from The Big Bang Theory. The role was selected by auditions, even though she had a close relationship with the show.
